Data Reduction

Instrumental output, terminal readings, chromatograms, strips chart recordings, and physical measurements
provide raw analytical data that are reduced to concentrations of analytes through the application of the appropriate calculations. Equations are
generally given within the analytical methods referenced in the chapter on Standard Operating Procedures.

Data reduction may be performed automatically by computerized data systems on the instruments or by the NEL database
system, or manually by the analysts.
